Civil Search and Sieze

In civil matters, there has been a significant increase of Search & Seize Orders being issued by the High Court (and occasionally the County Court).

On each occasion the court will appoint an Independent Expert to examine and seize the digital evidence, whilst working at the direction of the independent Supervising Solicitor, who is also appointed by the court.

The proposed experts in each case are usually put forward by the Instructing Solicitors.

The ability to be appointed by the Court as an Independent Computer Expert relies upon a Judge reviewing an affidavit provided by our expert, which details their credentials and experience.

We have provided several concurrently appointed experts on previous cases.

It is also not uncommon for our experts to work with Instructing Solicitors that are dealing with these issues for the first time.

Our experience allows us assist with the formulation of affidavits and indeed to assist with the applications to the Court.
